![]() He was a gracious host that connected with his Port Huron audience. And he was equally as adept on drums and keyboard. On guitar, he is amazing! His vocals cut to the heart. The atmosphere was super-charged in the nearly full-house-and that energy worked from the back of the house, to the stage, and back again.Īlthough, original GFR members, Mel and Donny, are dong shows under the Grand Funk Railroad name, as talented as they are, I cannot imagine a "Grand Funk" show without the talent of GFR front-man, Mark Farner. Mark and his talented "American Band" band played Grand Funk's greatest hits and added a couple more that made the night a trip back in time. That said, Mark's show last night was GREAT! High-energy! At 74 years of age, this rock legend's still got it.and he left it all on the McMorran stage. Okay, I may be prejudiced, because I, like Mark, am a "Flintstone".born and raised in Flint, Michigan (he's got a couple years on me).
